(Synopsis) A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

I spent six weeks screwing Austin Wright’s brains out and all I got was this broken heart.

He can’t be trusted. Not with my body or my heart. Yet, two years have passed and I still crave him like an addict needing a fix.

The last time we tried this, it nearly ruined me. I know I should run and never look back. But his dark haunted eyes and razor blade smile speak to my soul. His touch sets my body on fire. And we all know what happens when you light gasoline. Someone is bound to get burned.

A second chance might destroy us both.

Because everyone knows two wrongs don’t make a Wright.

I knew going in to this one that The Wright Mistake was going to be a heart breaker. I had no idea how true that sentiment would be. But, the best part about this book wasn't the breaking, but the mending.

Julia and Austin are fire and ice. For two years, their interactions have been nonexistent at best, volatile at worst. In the two previous books in this series, the fact that they don't get along was made plain, but we never really understood why. In The Wright Mistake, we get their backstory and, as always seems to be the case, the demise of their relationship was due to Austin's other long-standing relationship - with alcohol.

Austin is a high-functioning alcoholic, but an alcoholic all the same. His BFF Patrick enables him and his siblings don't question him, so as not to rock the family boat. But, when Austin decides he wants another go at a relationship with Julia, she pulls out all the stops - I'm yours as long as you don't drink.

In addition to his personal relationships being affected by alcohol, his professional ones were as well. There are big changes at Wright Construction announced in this book, and Austin's role in the company is contingent on him getting some help. Between Julia and his job, Austin has some pretty big motivation to get sober and stay that way.

It's not that easy though. Austin's road to sobriety is long and hard. It's punctuated by some amazing moments with Julia as she lends a supportive hand along the way. They really are perfect for one another in so many ways. And once they stop fighting all the time, it's easy to see why. But, love and amazing sex aren't enough. Especially when stress comes at him from work and from his family, and he doesn't have the coping skills necessary to handle them without a drink.

I'm so glad that Kyla Linde didn't make Austin's issues with alcohol less important or easy to get over just so that we could get to a neat and tidy HEA with he and Julia. My heart was heated and my soul battered by everything that he goes through. I was equally sad for Julia, as she had to stand by and watch the man she loves go through all this, not knowing if they would be standing together on the other side. It was emotional and impactful and heartbreakingly real. I loved it.

I think back to where these five siblings were in the very beginning of the first book at youngest sibling Sutton's wedding. I remember thinking that these three brothers and two sisters didn't have a great relationship. They weren't one of those closer-than-close families where they all leaned on one another and would do anything for any of them.

Now, with everything that the three brothers have gone through, it's amazing to see how this family has rallied around one another. First with Jensen and his child, then with Landon and his ex and his injury, and now with Austin and his addiction - these trials have brought these five siblings so much closer together, and I've really loved watching that happen slowly, over time. Morgan and Patrick's book is next, so I can't wait to see how the brothers handle their sister falling in love. I have a feeling it will be the Wright kind of perfect.
