(Synopsis) Jake Gallagher knew from the moment he saw Maya that she was the one for him—it had the same breath-taking intensity as when he’d first set eyes on Border. Only life never turns out the way one plans, and now he’s falling for someone else...or at least he thinks he is.

Maya Montgomery never should have looked past the friendship she already had. Now that she has, she can’t stop thinking about Jake and what he means to her. When a mysterious stranger from Jake’s past shows up at their door, she’s forced to admit that if she doesn’t take the risk of a lifetime, she’ll regret it for the rest of her days.

Border Gentry walked away without a second glance once because of what could happen if he let go, but now he’s back and ready to see what he’s missed. He’s been on the road a long time and has seen things no man should ever see, yet once he rediscovers the broody Jake and meets the inked and fierce Maya, they’re like a balm to his soul and he realizes what path his future should take.

It will take more than sizzling chemistry and a heat that never dies for the three of them to overcome their pasts. And when someone from the outside wants to stand in their way, it’s not only their hearts on the line…but also their lives.

I have been dying for Maya and Jake's story ever since I read the very first book in the Montgomery Ink series. When I learned that not only would Maya and Jake finally get their HEA, but that it would include another man, well, that was it for me. I knew I HAD to have this book.

The intro chapter in the book was brilliant and so perfect for setting the stage. It gave us the story of how Maya and Jake met 13 years earlier, and my goodness, it was an incredible story. A HOT story. It showed Jake in a whole new sexy light, and I really, REALLY liked what I saw. But, as we all know, he and Maya hit a wall and remained friends for a very long time. They both should've realized that when you have chemistry like that, you can try to tamp it down, and you might succeed for awhile, but eventually the house of cards will fall.

I have to be honest - Maya may be my least favorite Montgomery sibling. She's brash and pushy and intrusive. She's kinda mean sometimes. She loves her siblings, but she's not overly touchy feely like the others seem to be. But, with Jake she's always been different. Softer. And, I did appreciate the opportunity to get inside her head. It made a big difference in how I saw her. Maya has a lot going on inside her head, and she has a lot of affection for her siblings that doesn't manifest outwardly.

Maya and Jake might have been a long time coming, but Jake and Border were an even longer time coming. They had a thing before Jake ever met Maya, but Border bailed for his own reasons. Now he's back - one might say it's bad timing as Maya and Jake are finally ready to admit their feelings for one another. As it turns out, Border adds an extra level of awesome to Maya and Jake, and none of them ever saw that coming.

I've been wanting Maya, Jake and Border's story so badly, that perhaps I hyped it up a bit in my head. Don't get me wrong - it was a great book. I just wanted... more. There weren't too many scenes between Maya, Jake and Border. Or between Jake and Border alone. The ones between Maya and Jake and Maya and Border - those were smokin' hot. But, while Border was working on wrapping up his last protection case, and Jake was working on wrapping up his last relationship, and Maya was working on wrapping up her friend zoning of Jake in her mind, I wish they had spent more time together as a threesome - talking, interacting, getting sweaty.

Enduring Ink is told from all three main characters' POVs. As in the other books, there are lots of scenes with all the Montgomery siblings and the parentals when they come together for dinners and family meetings. The groundwork was laid for the next book, which FINALLY will be Alex's. I look forward to seeing more Maya, Jake and Border and how their story continues to shake down.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.
